Conlaw Exam

I’m sitting here in my office studying for my Disability Law exam, which will be on Wednesday, and I decided to update you on things lately.

Our Constitutional Law exam was on Friday. I have to be honest… I’m a little bit worried about this one. This class has been one great paradox for me. Coming into law school, it was the class I anticipated the most. However, it was also the most frustrating class for me. Part of it probably has to do with my belief that the current state of Constitutional precedent leaves much to be desired. To top it off, I strongly believe that a law class on the Constitution should require actually reading the Constitution. Another complaint that I had about this class was we weren’t allowed to use laptops in class. If you’ve read my rant on laptops in the classroom, then you know that I am a strong proponent of having a laptop in class.

Anyways… the Conlaw exam was pretty difficult. The only consolation is that those classmates I’ve spoken to, felt pretty much the same way. For this exam, only time will tell.

Evidence Final

Earlier this morning I took my first final of this semester. Evidence was a fairly interesting class and I really enjoyed the professor. The final consisted of 53 questions, most of which were multiple choice. There were, perhaps, a half dozen “short answer” questions. By “short answer” the professor meant “one sentence or so.” We had the opportunity to cross out (or PASS) on up to five questions that we didn’t want to answer. Our grade percentage will be calculated based on the number of questions we answered correctly out of the number of questions we answered. I ended up crossing out two questions because I didn’t feel confident about any of the options, but, in hindsight, I probably should have crossed out another one or two.

Oh well…

It’s on to Conlaw now. As interesting as I find the subject matter, I’m not exactly thrilled about this exam.
